Apply for "Seeds of Change" Microvouchers

Openworld is offering 500 microscholarships in coming months to fund digital "work-study" projects by students at entrepreneurial schools for the poor to create video clips on opportunities for sustainability. The initiative is funded by recent grants from John C. Whitehead, former coChairman of Goldman Sachs, Jack Pearce, and the Explorers Foundation. Explore the new Seeds of Change challenge offer and apply for the Seeds of Change resources.

Assisting Entrepreneurial Schools, a project of Openworld, Inc., is pleased to introduce a range of new resources and opportunities for market-based schools to thrive.

What you'll find here...

  • Creative funding solutions ... how entrepreneurial schools are attracting "digital donations" from online givers, offering microscholarships to expand their market share, launching internship programs to cut tuition, and securing land grants as endowments for lasting sustainability. *NEW* Explore Openworld's "Seeds of Change" challenge offers for adoption and integration of these sustainability innovations.
  • New partnership ideas ... ideas from pioneering thinkers and practitioners on new ways that businesses can work with under-performing schools to mutual benefit.
  • Students as learning entrepreneurs ... opportunities to reward peer-learning ventures, including informal learning circles, eLearning microenterprises formed by students, and new "co-ownership schools" that include students among the equity stakeholders.

The Assisting Entrepreneurial Schools portal is one element of Openworld's follow-through on recommendations in the "New Catalysts for Sustainability" research project supported by the Sabre and Whitehead Foundations, and in a more recent strategy update, "Awakening Assets for the Next Four Billion."

The portal is among the web-based tools and resources - including a "Peer Learning" Twitter feed -  being prepared for future "Openworld Communities" and for a new Global Resource Partners consortium being organized for their support.
